The project
Epsilon begins with a shaped movement, and gives it a complete visual identity.
Developed with Inceptum, Epsilon is a contemporary Tortue built around the shaped I-02 calibre. I defined the case and dial, translating the movement's proportions into a compact, characterful watch that feels integral rather than assembled.
When the movement dictates the form
The proprietary hand-wound I-02 calibre is not hidden inside a generic enclosure: its shape defined the project from the outset. That starting point led to a 42 × 33 mm steel case with a 7.10 mm profile, engineered and proportioned as one object.
The resulting silhouette takes the Tortue language forward through sharp planes, a variable-radius polished bevel and alternating satin surfaces. It is a form with a clear origin in mechanics, but with enough tension and presence to stand on its own.
Designed from the inside out.
Defined by a new form.
A dial designed to complete the case
For the dial, I paired the assertive geometry of the case with a more classical, disciplined rhythm. Breguet-style numerals and indices are micro-milled from nickel silver, then applied and finished by hand, giving the surface changing depth and light.
The black Cerakote dial and the salmon pink-copper version are two expressions of the same visual system. An engraved minute track and applied Inceptum plaque keep the display clear, allowing material, proportion and form to carry the identity.
